Peirone Produce grows its online presence

Originally founded by Joe Peirone in 1945, Peirone started as a modest downtown shop and has grown to become the largest distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables to independent grocers in the Inland Northwest. With a brand new, state-of-the-art facility on the West Plains and a new experienced and forward-thinking President and CEO, Mike Kamphaus, Peirone is well positioned for rapid growth and expansion over the next decade.

When Peirone hired Zipline interactive, the company was leading the market in nearly every category but was greatly lacking in one important area, its digital marketing. In fact, Peirone did not have a true website. When a customer typed in the Peirone website address, they landed on a simple and stale landing page. Mike and the Peirone team recognized this was a huge missed opportunity to connect and interact with customers and prospects so they reached out to Zipline for some help.

Our team worked with Peirone to understand its long term goals and objectives. We worked to understand the flow of information, the buying process, and the key points of customer interaction. We used this information to design and develop an online solution that provides both customers and prospective customers with the right information at the right time in the buying process. We also worked to pay careful attention to the time demands of the new website and associated tools put on by the Peirone team to make sure that the pieces they were committing to were sustainable. Exceptional customer service is one of the keys to Peirone’s success and it was critical to the Peirone management team that every piece of the website represented their commitment to customer service.

All in all, the project has been a resounding success. In a remarkably short period of time, Peirone has transitioned from having no website at all to being the owners of one of the best and most interactive online experiences in the entire industry.
